Megasaurus will chomp on his favorite snacks during Night of Fire at Bristol Dragway.

Bristol Dragway will heat up Friday, May 30 when fire-breathing Funny Cars, earth-scorching jet dragsters, ground-shaking monster trucks and a three-story tall metal monster invade Bristol for the thrilling Night of Fire.

Legendary Thunder Valley will come under fire when two nitro-burning Funny Cars take center stage as NHRA veteran Bob Gilbertson battles IHRA competitor Andy Kelley in this high-speed grudge match.  Gilbertson, fresh off the O'Reilly NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals, returns to Bristol Dragway with a few tricks up his sleeve, including a Jungle Jim-style, long, smoky burnout.

When the crowd hears the sound of train whistles that evening, it will signal the arrival of the unique "jet trains."  The K.C. Jones Racing Team will fight fire with fire as their famous Chattanooga Choo-Choo and Cannonball Express jet dragsters light up the night with a powerful flame show that will make the ground rattle.  Once they receive the green light, the "jet trains" will burn up the track at breathtaking speeds.

Adding fuel to the fire, the Predator and Prowler monster trucks will crush everything in their paths during an on-the-edge freestyle session.  Once these high-octane beasts shift into high gear they make cars look like pancakes.

Chevy Rebellion, a hair-raising wheelstander, will bring the crowd to the edge of their seats with an amazing display of skill as its front wheels raise from the ground and remain there for an entire pass down the track.

Legendary Benny the Bomb will make his triumphant return to Thunder Valley and will hold his feet to the fire....literally.  Benny will climb aboard a car filled with explosives, blow it up and walk away to the applause of the amazed onlookers.

Megasaurus, a metal-munching mechanical marvel, will come out to play for the evening's final act, looking for his favorite meal, cars left behind by Predator and Prowler.  Megasaurus, who stands three stories tall and weighs in at over 50,000 pounds, is not a lightweight.  With over 30,000 pounds of lifting power and the ability to shoot flames from his nostrils, he will have no problem devouring the snacks left for him.

The evening concludes with a dazzling fireworks show putting a cap on the Night of Fire, a definite can't-miss event for the entire family.

Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-15.  Children five and under are free.  Discount coupons are available at APPCO convenience stores while supplies last.
