American Motorcycle Association Dragbike, the largest all-motorcycle drag racing sanctioning body in the world, invades Bristol Dragway June 20-22 for the AMA Dragbike Summer Nationals with plenty of spectacular two-wheel action.

AMA Dragbike features 1/4 mile motorcycle drag racing with the quickest motorcycles in the world.  From the five-second, 240 mph supercharged Nitro-Burning Top Fuel missiles to the seven-second, 200 mph Pro Street bikes with no wheelie bars, there is something for everyone at this motorcycle heaven.

Spectators can see Larry "Spiderman" McBride's outrageous Top Fuel bike and the street-legal monsters of Barry Henson and Kent Stotz.  Some of the world's quickest and fastest times can be seen at AMA Dragbike events.

The Summer Nationals will be the inaugural event for AMA Dragbike in Thunder Valley, and is slated as the fourth of eight events on the 2008 schedule.

"We are very excited to bring the AMA Dragbike series to Bristol Dragway," said Scott Valetti, AMA Dragbike President.  "It is important to us to provide our racers with top quality racing facilities.  We feel Thunder Valley is one of the best tracks in the country, in addition to being one of the most picturesque.  We look forward to a long and successful relationship with the staff at Bristol Dragway."

Originally the IHRA Motorcycle Division, the concept of AMA Dragbike began with Keith "Scooter" Kizer and Jack O'Malley, the late owner of Orient Express High Performance Motorcycle Components.

"Our first race was a one-time race for the championship in October 1989," remembered Kizer.

From that one-time race, the AMA Dragbike series has turned into one of the premier motorcycle drag racing sanctioning bodies in the world.

Today, AMA Dragbike draws competitors from around the world to race on the top tracks in the country.  All motorcycle brands are welcome and compete on equal terms in the quickest, fastest show on two wheels.

The top motorcycle drag racers in the country will battle it out for the coveted AMA Dragbike #1 plate.  Competition will be held in five professional classes (Top Fuel, Funnybike, Pro Mod, Pro Stock, Pro Street), three semi-pro classes (Super Street, SuperSport and Real Street) and six sportsman classes (Top Gas, Super Comp, Street Fighter Pro ET, Street ET).  Bristol is the first event of the season that features a Friday night qualifying session.
