Due to a schedule conflict with the NHRA bracket finals, event promoter George Howard has opted to cancel the Southern Outlaw Tour race planned for Oct. 10-12 at Bristol Dragway.
The Southern Outlaw Tour will return to Bristol Dragway in 2009 with the same exciting action fans have come to expect from the 10.5" Outlaw class.
The Bristol race originally was the first stop on the Southern Outlaw Tour with an event scheduled in early April. Weather prevented the completion of the race, and Howard chose to postpone the event until October.
The Dragway season now will conclude with the Oct. 4-5 Bristol Bracket Blowout. The race will include a racer appreciation celebration to thank competitors for their support during the year.
The Bracket Blowout includes a regular bracket event and a mulligan race. In the mulligan race, drivers can purchase a mulligan at the gate and use it to re-enter the race after a loss during any round of eliminations.
